My trip to the ER

So yesterday we went to Davids 2nd cousins house for a little christmas get together. I felt fine when we went and when we were there. I had a bowl of this wild rice soup (which I had 2 bowls before and felt fine) but this bowl I started to get a major stomache. We ended up leaving just because it was time to go. We had to go to Walmart to get some last minute things before Mexico, and it just got worse and worse, and I started to get a headache.

When we got home I put on my PJs and laid on the couch, My head was pounding, and I thought I was going to throw up. At first I was thinking I was just getting a flu bug. But my head started to hurt more and more and it ended up getting to be a bad migraine, I couldnt look into lights, nothing.

Mostly I am good if I take one migraine med and go to sleep. Well I tried and my head was stilll pounding and I couldnt fall a sleep. So I came back down stairs about 1 hour after I took my first med and I decided to take another (which I normally never do) well i took that med and I sat in pain waiting for it to kick in and it never did. I ended up calling my mom to see what I should do, She is a pro at these bad migraines. She told me to ice my head for 20 minutes and if it doesnt get better head to the ER.

So I iced my head for 20 minutes and my head was STILL pounding, so David loaded me up around 10 and we were off to the ER. The lights outside were SOO bad (and it was DARK out!!) but I put a cloth over my eyes and then I used my black glove to cover my eyes and it was just getting comfy. We arrived at the ER and of course it was SOOOOO bright it there I thought i was going to die.

The triage (sp?) nurse brought me back into her little room and took my blood pressure it was 145/102, my pulse was 102 and my temp was 99.9!! HOLY crap all of those were WAY high for me. She agreed with me that I am in pain and I might still be getting the flu bug.

We waited in the waiting room for oh probably 15 minutes. Not to bad, the nurse took me back, made David stay in the waiting room. And the nurse turns on the bright lights and started to ask me questions the triage nurse already did. Oh well. She took my BP again it was 135/90, still high but a little better. She left, and was nice enough to turn the lights off for me. So I sat there with my head down for probably 30 minutes before they let David back in the room.

After David came back we waited probably another 30 minutes before the DR came back. So when he did show up, he came in was was like "so you get these kind of headaches huh?" I was like"yup" He proceeded to say he was going to give me a shot of a pain med and then send me home and walked out of the room. So that was probably a $700 bill. He came back and asked if there was any way I could be pregnant. I told him no, and he looked at me like are you sure?? I am like no there is no way I could be pregnant, trust me. He was just an idot, This made David and I both laugh, hell, David could have told me that I need some pain meds. The Dr said a nurse would be right in.

So about 30 minutes later a the Dr came back and ask me if a nurse has seen me yet, nope she sure hasnt. So he said he would go get one. 15 minutes later a nurse finally came in and gave me some meds for my nausea and then was getting the needle ready to give me a shot. He told me it hurt less if we gave me the shot in the bum. So David walked out of the room (pussy) and the nurse had to turn the light on and he proceeded to give me the shot in the butt, and WOW did it sting!! oucha! The nurse told me to sit it out for 15 minutes to see if it would get better. I was smart enough to ask if I could lay down!

So I laid there for 15 miunutes, feeling better. The lights didnt hurt my eyes and the sound wasnt so bad, but my head still hurt only on the right side. A different dr came in and asked me how I was doing I told him that It still hurt on the right side. He suggested that we send me home with some narcotics, PERFECT!! :) So he asked me if I ever had them before I replied yes and that I would rather not have vicodin, since it made me sick when I had my wisdom teeth out. He looks at me and he is like "really? vicodin made you sick?" duh dumb ass I am not making this up. So I told him that i was on percocet and I never got sick. He just looked at my dumbfounded. HELLO, I know what I am talking about! Vicodin has NSAIDS in it, which makes the COXI flare up which in results in a sore stomach, possible throwing up. Percocet has acetaminophen in it and it doesnt cause stomach upset. Again this dr was an idot also!

But he ended up sending me home with some genertic for percocet, and told me to take one if I cant fall a sleep. But I got home just fine around 2am and I was able to fall a sleep, and I actually slept really good. I am now awake for the morning and I feel pretty good. I am just really tierd. I think it is from maybe the migraine and the meds from last night.

We got LIGHTS!!!

We went to Walmart today to snatch up the after xmas deals. We were hindered a little this morning cause it sleeted last night so we were worried the roads were going to be bad. We finally got out of the house around 11am, and let me tell you the stores were NUTS!!! But we snatched up white icicle xmas lights for the tent for like $3.00 each! They were orginally $6.00 but they were 50% off! We had to get 22 boxes to have enough to go around the whole tent. People looked at us so wierd when they saw all of the lights. I am excited to get this "check" done with since I have to start over with the groomsmen's outfits!! @@ (still makes me mad!)

Picture is from google, cause my dumb camera wont work. I take like 2 pictures and it drains my battery.

Oh and PS only 6 days til Mexico, can you tell I am excited?? :)

Groomsmen's Outfits are here!!

and they suck! I opened the box of pants, and they were navy.. @@ so I double checked to make sure that I ordered it right, on the reciept they sent to my email it said black, so that sucks. I will be returning them and getting the right ones.

Then the shirts also came, I put them up along the black pants I bought, and the blacks dont match!! @@ Goll darnit, so i will be returning them also! I thought I had such a huge check done.. I guess not!

I also got the ties we ordered, the 3 more pink ones and a white one. They are good. I just need to put the white tie that David is going to be wearing up against my dress to make sure they are close enough!

OHH also, 1 week from today I will be just getting in from laying on the sunny beach of Mexico!! Oh I cant wait!

Merry Christmas!!

The holidays are finally coming to an end. We were so busy. On Christmas eve we went to my moms, we opened presents and had a nice time eating and visiting. Her boyfriend, Ron,'s kids came also. Then today, we went over to his parents for brunch and opened presents and then went to Wykoff for his dad's sides christmas.

MOB dress & Groomsmen's Outfits

Did I even spell groomsmen's right? oh well.

My mom was excited to get going on finding a dress for our wedding. So we decided to go out on Thursday, just the 2 of us. We went to David's Bridal, which I will say I have yet had good service there! @@ But my mom found a dress she really liked. This is in purple, but she will be getting it in black. Which at first I was a little leary of, but I think it is going to look great!! :)

Since we found her dress at the very first shop we went to (actually the first dress she tried on for the day) we decided we would start shopping for the groomsmen's outfits. I had all of there sizes it was just a matter of finding all of them.. We went to sears at the mall of america and I found a pair of Dockers I really liked so we headed online in the store to order them. We did great expect for 1 groomsmen his measurements are 32/36 which is impossible to find. But we did the best we could. So we got them ordered they were $29.99 each. Then we went to the tie store and we found the pink ties that match almost perfect to the girl's dresses. So we got them. They were $20.00 :) We were all tuckered out so called it a day.

The next day I headed to JCPennys and found a black shirt that matched the black, but of course they didnt have all the sizes. So I headed online and ordered some that I think will match. I am crossing my fingers they do. And they were $22.00.

So there outfits are basically in the mail, So I should be getting them soon. I am happy to get this huge project over with!!

Why so hard....

So I am sitting her tryin to figure out how many pieces of paper I need for our invited. I came up with 268 pieces of paper which makes 146 invites. I am totally not looking forward to cutting all of these and pasting them together! But I really want to get them done during Xmas break. Well most of it. maybe not the white part where the text will be going... Ohh how I wish this wedding would be here already....

Make-up trail Picture

I know it is not the best picture. But we went to the free thing from Davids Bridal, and it was actually really fun. The girl we worked with was awesome! So awesome we hired her to do our make-up on the wedding day. She only charges $15 per face, which I didnt think was to bad. So here is the make-up that I did from mary-kay. I like it but my cheeks need to be a little more dark with blush. This make-up also stayed on the whole night!! Which i thought was awesome.

Kelli's Wedding

So Kelli's (and Brians) wedding was this weekend. It went by soooo fast for me, and I was a bridesmaid. Everything turned out great, no real mess ups. It was colder then cold, I think the high was like 32 or so. But the rain/sleet/snow went away for a day, and the sunshine came out!

This makes David and I so excited for our wedding. We are just ready to have our big day and enjoy it! And then going on our honeymoon of course. I didnt take any pictures, I should have. So when I get some I will post them!

Brrr

All I can say is brrr. Today the high was 30 degrees!!! Brrr, I am so not ready to get out my winter jacket. I also just watched the news, and it is suppose to be 32 on Saturday (I know it is a long time away so it could change) for Kelli's Wedding. We are going to be SOOO cold with our strapless dress!!

Centerpiece Drama

When we first got engaged, I thought I had a great plan for centerpieces. This is what I thought I wanted. Just simple vase with flowers in it.

But then I really started to think, I think we will need more light considering the reception is in a tent. So I thought it would be cool to have lots and lots of candles. Kind of like this

Well little did I know it was WAY expensive. My wonderful older sister did some major research for me about how much it is going to cost. It was going to cost us close to $900 to do all of the centerpieces, including flowers.

David and I both agreed that was WAY to much money for centerpieces. So we were on the look again for a cheaper way to do it. We are on a very tight budget and I dont want to break the bank.

Jess, my oldersister, were talking on the phone last night and she came up with a great idea. We are going to use canning jars, and we are going to put battery christmas lights in the jars. Kind of like this, I am not really sure about the fabric on the top. But you get the idea.

Perfect!! So we were going to try to find canning jars that we could just borrow. We Jess did the calling to my grandma and she said she would have enought to let us borrow them!! yay, so that is a HUGE cost we can take off our list. So it is on to go after christmas and buy the lights on sale.

David and I are pretty excited about this idea. We are also going to have a table runner, kind of like this.

So this is where our centerpiecs stand of right now. Who knows it will probably change again.

Im full of ideas to post about..

ok, so just one more thing until I go off to study....

They (our landlords) started to combine the corn around our house today. This makes me super sad. The corn made our yard and house very sicluded, and when the corn is down we can hear EVERY single car that drives by.. I am totally not looking forward to it.

Stella, our dog, didnt like all the action here today. She is finally getting a little protective of our yard/house. Which makes me happy in away. She barks like crazy but she keeps her distance from the people, so I know she wont hurt anyone. Plus she is to big of a baby!

Elections @@

So I am offically sick of listening/watching the election on TV. It is on every single channel. Really? we really need to have the SAME thing on every single channel!! And the worst part is that it is only almost 8, we have a lot more to come... But I do have to say I am interested in what the final vote or decision or whatever is in Minnesota. hmmm.. off to do some more homework.

I now have a test EVERY single week until the end of the semester and that is like 7 weeks away.. ack! Oh well.. tootles

I got nothin....

Well today is No school!! wahoo!!

Can you say... ATTENTION WHORE!!

ok, well I couldn't resist.. I have to post my engagement pictures.

Kelli Crawford (K. Crawford Photography), a friend of mine, took them on October 17. These are just some of her sneak peak ones. She is getting married on November 15th, so she doesn't have time til December to get the rest of them up for me! We absolutely love how they turned out, and are bummed she wont be doing our wedding pictures, cause she is a bridesmaid instead!

ok.. but for real now

So as you can see I didn't update my blog to much. I am hoping that I can keep in up to date a little more now.

So since I last wrote, I had picked out a bridesmaid dress

** It wouldn't let me upload a picture.. bummer**

And Jenni's called me I think on Monday and told me that forever yours has discontinued our dress.. @@ Makes me so mad, so it was back to the drawing tables.

This one is forever yours 79103. The dress would be pink (cotton candy) and the sash would be black. I am not sure if I really like this dress.. hmmm

Now this dress I REALLY REALY love. I am just not sure if the halter will work for my sister. So we have to try them out and see. Again it would be pink (cotton candy) and black around the waist.

Both dresses are from http://www.foreverbridals.com/ under the bridesmaid expressions. They are $129 and then we get a 10% discount. So much to think about.

Well I think I distracted myself from my homework long enough.. Back to studying for my principals test tomorrow. On a good note.. no school Tuesday because of voting!! yay!!

I forgot to put this on the other post, but we have decided to change our reception site. We are going to have it out at our place in a tent. I priced out the tent/tables and chairs/port-a-pottys and it about $1700 more to have it out here, but we think it is totally worth it. We need to ask our landlords to make sure it is ok.

Uploading old blog posts....August 3, 2008

I had a very busy weekend. So I am here now to update.

My mom, and sisters came down on Friday to make our first round of dress shopping. We had an appt with Jenni's Bridal at 10, then David's Bridal at 12:30 and then Mestads at 4. When we went to Jenni's they were SOOOO friendly, and made me feel really comfortable. We went through there selections and picked out dresses I thought I would like. I didnt want to try on any dresses over my budget which was $500. My sisters went to the discontinued dress and they found ones I thouht I would like. Our associate that was helping us was Michelle, who was AWESOME!!! I started trying on the discontinued dress, the first 2 were to small so we just took them off right away. We then put one on. When she was lacing it up I was like this is totally the dress (not even seeing how it looked on me) I went out and showed my sisters and mom, and I saw myself and I LOVE it!!! I knew this one was the one! My mom even teared up a little. So we went on and tried on about 10 more dresses or more and nothing compared to that first one I tried on. After my appt was done at Jenni's I knew I wanted that first dress, the only thing was that it was as discontinued dress and they normally dont hold it, but we got the boss to hold it for us for 2 hours while we went to David's Bridal and tried on my dresses, I just wanted to make sure I was making the right decision.

So we went to our appt at David's Bridal, and the women that helped us was a bitch to begin with. The I met the associate, Shannon, and she was kind of snobby. Oh well I didnt try to let it bother me. They pick out all the dresses they thought I would like. I really didnt like this way, she either picked out dresses that were WAY beaded or WAY not beading. One extreme to the other. The more I was trying to tell her what I was thinking she got more and more bitchy towards me. And with every dress I tried on I didnt like it as much as that first dress! :) So after we were done with our appt at David's I wanted to go back and pay for MY dress. haha
We went back to Jenni's and I asked if I could try it on one more time to just to make sure. I slipped right into it and I absoultly knew that was the dress that was for me. The best part of loving that dress is that it was only $199 for a Maggie Sottero!! :) So I got my credit card and bought it. I ended up just canceling the appt at Mestads. We went to eat and came back and tried on Bridesmaids dresses and Mother Dresses.

We decided we are going with a tea length dress for sure or the BM, but nothing is set which dress is the one we are going with. I just know we are NOT going through David's Bridal. So come back to see if we made a decision yet. My mom really didnt find anything she liked at Jennis.

Britt decided to go to the tractor/truck pull with David and I at the fair after dress shopping. We had a good time. We ended up getting home around 1am.

So we got up on Saturday and went to another dress shop to just go BM dress shopping and Mother Dress Shopping. We found a BM dress but we were going to take the buttons off and make shorter all of this stuff to it. (But I ended up going online and finding a tea lengetht dress in the same designer, I will have to cal Jenni's and see if they have it) and my mom found the dress she thinks she is going to buy. So we got a lot done there also! :) I actually ended up getting into my dress while we were there to see what it would look like with our BM and Mothers Dresses. And the girl found out how much I paid for the dress and was totally nit-picking everythin about it. I think she was upset that I got it for so cheap! Screw her! I have also decided we are NOT going to our BM dresses through her. She was to mean to me.

Over all I loved Jenni's and would totally recommend them to anyone. I was VERY VERY VERY VERY impressed! I will be getting a picture up of my dress under "brides attire" soon.

So I got a lot done this last weekend. We found our Photographer, and some tablelinens!! Which doesnt seem like much but that is some major checks!! haha. Our Save the Dates, and Upload Photos are ordered and are currently getting printed through VistaPrint. I am excited to get them. We are completing the rest of our Save the Dates at the Beginning of Aug. After everything is done, I am going to start addressing them, and they will be sent out Oct 1, 2008!!!! yay!! What else? I am done with work as of today. So hopefully I will get much more planning done. I am also updating my bio.. :)

Ok, ok, ok, I have been a piss poor bride lately. I havent updated in a really long time. But to be honest there really isnt that much to update. Wedding Planning has been on hold for a little while, but I am back into the swing of things again. We got our new pots and pans that we ordered back in May. They are WONDERFUL!!!! I love them so far. And lets not forget that today is the 1 year mark to our wedding! David woke me up before going to work to wish me a happy anniversary and 1 year til our wedding. It made me smile, and I instantly got butterflies in my tummy. I cant imagin what I am going to be like next year at this time. When I looked outside it was rainy and gloomy. I told David it better not rain a year from today! And he asked if I would cry if it did, I replied, "yes, I would! but then I would get over it!" haha. Tonight we are headed out to the Winona County Fair, and then on Sunday we are going to go canoeing. It should be fun. And I just got off the phone with a photographer that we are going to meet with. July 18th at 5pm!

So I am just stressing today about our wedding. I just dont think anything will turn out, and it will look like a cheapy wedding. Which I am deathly afraid of. I also feel like I have no talent, so I dont think our programs, save the dates, and invites are going to turn out.. Awwwww, I am soo stressing

Uploading old blog posts....June 24, 2008

I really need to get better at writing on this. Man oh man. Well since the last night I wrote on here, we got our DJ booked. We are having Complete Music. We both fell in love when we met with them. Now we are trying to get a photographer. We are going to meet with "Hart Photography" after we get back from 4th of July vacation. A girl at my work is also going to give us a girls number that did her wedding in 2005. I am debating if I want a videographer. David doesnt really care if we have one of not. But I am having a hard time shelling out money for it. So that is something I need to think about hard. Oh I also called Gleasons Caterering today to get a price sheet. Hopefully by August we can decide on a caterer and book them. I am getting excited that I am quitting my job, I will be done at the beginning of August. Then I can really crack down on Wedding Planning. I have done a mock center piece and our programs. I took pictures and then my batteries went died. So I will have to recharge them. So keep a look out. Thats all for now! See ya

Uploading old blog posts....June 11, 2008

Well it has been a while since I wrote last. We went to the little speel and it turned out to be real. We did get a 2night/3day vacation. :) we also bought some of thier cookwear. It should be coming in July. So we are excited about that. We have a appt with complete sound dj tomorrow (thursday) So David can see what they are about. I found that at the bridal show we went to in march, I really liked them. I still havent found a photographer that I liked, so that search is still on. Other than that nothing is too new.

Uploading old blog posts...May 29, 2008

So i actually did some planning today! I got our DIY "save the date" postcards done! I think they turned out really cute. I need to just check them by David and see what he thinks! I still havent set up a time with the DJ.. i NEED to do that! I have been looking into photographers though. So that is something right? I also looked into Candian Hoonker for our catering.. I am thinking I dont want them, they are too classy!! haha!! This weekend (fri-sun) we are going camping just the 2 of us. I am excited, it should be really fun!
Tonight we are off to some presentation for a free 2 night/3 day honeymoon. It is probably a hoax but I guess we will find out, we have nothing to loose by going. I will update after we hear their speel.

Uploading old blog posts.... May 24, 2008

I told my self, once I am done with school I am going to get SO much planning done. Well here I sit over a week done with school, and I haven't really done any planning. So far I have done:
  • Date set: July 11, 2009
  • Deposit down on the reception hall: Stewartville Civic Center
  • Talked to the pastor about classes
  • Date reserved for the church
  • Wedding part picked out and asked
  • Groomsmen and Grooms attire picked out
  • Bridesmaid dresses picked out, I think
  • Wedding bands bought
  • play tractor bought for decoration

I think that is it, I need to get on it. I only have a 3 month summer, and I want most of it planned before I go back to school.

To Do List for the next week:

  • Set up time to met with the DJ
  • Find a Photographer we could be interested in
  • Get a menu from Gleasons and Candian Hoonker
  • Look into having a videographer
  • Start looking at dresses on the net.

Hello, Hello, Hello

Well here I am!! I am going to try to be a better blogger. I did have a blog in my "bio" from theknot.com but I didn't update it very much so I am going to try to be better. This is also going to be a blog about life, not just wedding related. Hope you enjoy!
